As a 5th edition technomancer: I like Data Trails. Sure there are problems. The MMRI echo is just a wordier version of the Mind over Machine echo from the main book.
I also wish there were a few more toys. But… The book does a great job of making sense out of the matrix. It finally makes hosts understandable. I love the Deeper and Deeper chapter.
It also finally allows me to kill hosts. Data Trails describes the deep web, groups, gives awesome examples for run design, and offers a bit of fluff for rainy day afternoons. If you think technomancers need new toys to be awesome, I would recommend hitting some boards. They already are. It just takes a few dozen roles, sprites, and a PhD in dirty tricks. No I don't work for Catalyst.

At any rate, they have lost my faith when I purchased the magic supplement and ill wait for them to turn this around or sell the franchise.

Basically, Red Brick Designs acquired the name, and moved all their IP over to the new company. Also, the only old IP they have is Earthdawn. None of their other IP ever belonged to FASA. Fluff-wise, sure, it's about the Matrix and you'll be able to read about interesting Matrix stuff. No problems there, shadowrun 5th edition pdf download 4shared. I love the Matrix. And I really like SR5. I think they've done a lot to really improve the game from SR4.
